[District of Columbia, June 10, 2026] – The DC Bar Foundation seeks early-career lawyers to serve on its Young Lawyers Network Leadership Council.
Leadership Council members are critical ambassadors for the Foundation’s mission to expand access to justice for all DC residents, regardless of income, knowledge, or power.
“Serving on the Young Lawyers Network Leadership Council remains one of the most meaningful parts of my professional life,” said Leadership Council Co-chair Josette Barsano.
“I get to grow in my understanding of the legal needs facing District residents, partner with the passionate people and organizations working to address them, and help raise the resources that bring their work to life.”
During their two-year terms, Young Lawyers Network Leadership Council members participate in quarterly meetings, serve on Board committees—including those that oversee the Foundation’s grantmaking and fundraising efforts—and, most importantly, plan and host the DC Bar Foundation’s lively annual Avenues to Justice fundraiser.
Application Process
Applicants must be members of the DC Bar in good standing, either live or work in DC, be committed to carrying out Council responsibilities, and be under the age of 40, unless just beginning their legal careers.
Learn more and apply here by Friday, August 7, 2026.
