Spotlight: Client Focus Groups
This week, several organizations, in partnership with the DC Bar Foundation and NPC Research, are hosting client focus groups to hear from the community about improving the delivery of civil legal aid in the District. We extend a sincere thank you to the following organizations who collaborated on this effort and are hosting focus groups: DC Rape Crisis Center, Bread for the City, District Alliance for Safe Housing, and Legal Counsel for the Elderly.
Our Call to Action Campaign – 90% There!
Each year through our Call to Action initiative, local law firms, businesses, and faith communities generously fund legal aid for District residents in need. To help build robust legal aid networks that meet the needs of our community's financially disenfranchised residents, we're asking DC firms, corporations, and faith communities to step forward in raising $570,000. We are 90% of the way to our goal. Will your workplace help us get to the finish line? Workplaces that make their pledge or contribution before May 25 will be featured in a full-page thank you ad in Washington Lawyer.

RSVP for June 8 Convening of the DC Legal Aid Transformations Network
The DC Legal Aid Transformations Network (DC LATN) next meets over Zoom on June 8 from 1 – 4 PM. You can RSVP for the convening here.
ABOUT THE DC LATN: In June 2021, the DC Bar Foundation brought together 57 legal aid providers, funders, community activists, social service providers, and other stakeholders to discuss how to reimagine a more equitable civil justice system in our city. The DC Legal Aid Transformations network grew out of this convening. The network’s primary focus is to develop a Coordinated Intake and Referral system for all areas of civil legal aid. This transformative system would be the first of its kind in the District.
