Get Involved with DC’s Civil Legal Aid Network!

Are you a young lawyer looking for a way to get involved with DC’s civil legal aid network? Consider applying to join the Young Lawyers Network Leadership Council (YLN LC)! YLN LC members act as ambassadors who promote the DC Bar Foundation’s mission, in part by planning engaging events like last week’s Avenues to Justice virtual fundraiser.

This year’s Avenues to Justice event featured remarks from DC Mayor Muriel Bowser and Second Gentleman of the United States Douglas Emhoff, and a panel conversation with four DC Bar Foundation grantees: Alana Brown of The Safe Sisters Circle, Laura Brown of First Shift Justice Project, Karen Newton Cole of Neighborhood Legal Services Program, and Keeshea Turner Roberts of Howard University School of Law’s Fair Housing Clinic. Click here to watch a recording of the program!

We are thrilled to announce that, through the YLN LC’s hard work, Avenues to Justice raised over $71,000, far surpassing both our initial $45,000 goal and our stretch $65,000 goal! Thank you to all of our generous corporate and individual sponsors for supporting DC’s civil legal aid network through our event.

To learn more about the YLN LC, including how to submit your application before the August 2 deadline, please visit our website or email Greer Richey, Development and Communications Specialist, at richey@dcbarfoundation.org.
