Over $1 Million Fundraised This Year

ree

The DC Bar Foundation is fortunate to have an extensive network of corporate and individual donors who consistently support our work year after year. As we wrap up the year, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude and heartfelt thanks to these donors for contributing over $1 million this year to the DC Bar Foundation by supporting our various events and fundraising campaigns. Thank you for making access to justice a reality for so many in DC!

This $1 million contributed through individual donations, event sponsorships, and more supports our work by bolstering two of our most fundamental programs:

  1. Our General Support Grants, which provide unrestricted funds to legal services organizations, helping them cover necessary operating costs that often cannot be covered by grants they receive elsewhere.

  2. Our Private Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP), which provides up to $12,000 a year in interest-free forgivable loans to help DC’s legal aid attorneys pay down often staggering educational debt and make it more possible for them to continue working at legal aid organizations. Attorneys working in legal services earn a fraction of the salaries earned by their peers at private law firms, despite providing often lifesaving or life-altering legal assistance.

If you wish to support these programs and other areas of our work, we encourage you to make a year-end gift to the DC Bar Foundation today.

The DC Bar Foundation's insight, strengthened through your generosity, enables us to identify areas of greatest need, develop innovative solutions, and facilitate collaboration among organizations to bridge the gap between legal services and those who need them most.

Join us in our commitment to strengthen DC’s civil legal aid network in 2026 by giving $100, $250, $500, or $1,000 to the DC Bar Foundation before December 31. Donations of $1,000 or more will qualify you as a member of our 77 Society. You can give online or send a check to DC Bar Foundation, 200 Massachusetts Ave, NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20001.
