Increase Your Impact: Join the 77 Society Today

The DC Bar Foundation invites you to invest more deeply in our shared pursuit of access to justice in the District by becoming a member of the 77 Society!
Named in honor of the Foundation’s first year of operation (1977), the 77 Society is comprised of our most generous supporters who donate $1,000 or more each fiscal year (October 1 – September 30). Additional giving tiers are $2,500, $5,000, and $10,000.
The Foundation also created legacy giving tiers within its 77 Society to recognize donors who have reached significant lifetime giving thresholds of $25,000, $50,000, and $100,000. We have named the legacy tiers after historic African-American civil rights champions in the District whose work may not be widely known.
Now is the perfect time to join – the third annual DC Walk for Justice 5K is just two months away, and this year we hope to raise $500,000 through corporate sponsorships and individual donations. Please consider making your gift of $1,000 or more through the Walk and joining the 77 Society’s “Class of 2026” by the end of our fiscal year on September 30.
Individual donors – especially 77 Society members – play a critical role in the Foundation’s ability to fund legal services for thousands of District residents with low incomes each year. Donations made by 77 Society members directly support our unrestricted grants, which help legal services organizations of all sizes pay for necessary expenses that often cannot be covered by other funding sources.
77 Society members enjoy the following benefits:
(1) Recognition on the DC Bar Foundation’s website, in the Annual Report, and in a Washington Lawyer digital and print ad.
(2) The opportunity to be profiled in our monthly newsletter
(3) An invitation to our annual President's Reception and 77 Society Breakfast, events exclusively for 77 Society members (pictured below):
