What a Day!

I’m still smiling from last week’s DC Walk for Justice.

We really couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day.

From the gorgeous river views along our new course; to the 600 enthusiastic walkers and dozens of sponsors and partners gathered at Nationals Park; to raising more money and awareness than ever before.

I want to say THANK YOU to this amazing community!

Together we raised $412,000 for civil legal services that will help more DC residents stay safe, housed, and economically secure.

An incredible communal spirit powered the day. Everywhere I turned, I saw people connecting, catching up, cheering each other on, and enjoying our beautiful city together.

Legal services staff and clients; energized teams and Justice Village tables representing dozens of law firms, corporate, city, and community partners; DC Bar Foundation Board members and staff; families, friends, law students, and supporters old and new all came together.

The thumping beats of a new Walk for Justice song got us grooving, DC Attorney General Brian Schwalb rallied the crowd, and DC Superior Court Chief Judge Milton C. Lee banged the giant gavel that launched all of us walkers on our way!

The Walk reflects who we are together: a community in action. So many of you showed up because we share a core belief in access to justice for all. And we know it will take all of us to achieve that for every DC resident.

I’m so grateful to everyone who walked, sponsored, donated, volunteered, or helped make the day possible. You made this year’s Walk a celebration of what we can accomplish together.

I hope you had as much fun as I did. And please save the date—Oct 28, 2027—to walk with us next year!

With gratitude, Kirra
