It’s the start of summer, and prep for our October 22 DC Walk for Justice 5K is heating up! Here are the latest updates for this year’s event.

Sponsorship Opportunities Available

44 generous sponsors have contributed over $246,000 toward our $500,000 fundraising goal for the 2026 DC Walk for Justice 5K! The DC Bar Foundation invites all DC-area law firms, businesses, and corporations to partner with us by sponsoring this year’s event.

Throughout the event, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the civil legal needs of DC residents and how the DC Bar Foundation–bolstered by our event sponsors–addresses those needs. By supporting a network of legal aid providers, the Foundation helps more than 40,000 District residents each year secure the fundamentals of life—the roof over their head, family stability, personal safety, and economic security.

Our six sponsorship tiers carry varying benefits, with one sure to fit your organization’s budget and needs. Visit our sponsorship page to learn more. Prospective sponsors should contact Daryl Byler, director of development, at byler@dcbarfoundation.org.

Announcing Our New Course

The DC Walk for Justice 5K route provides a uniquely “DC” experience for all participants, offering views of the iconic Nationals Park stadium and the scenic Anacostia Riverwalk Trail.

This year, our updated course will take walkers over the Frederick Douglass Bridge into Anacostia, symbolizing our collective will to bridge the access to justice gap, especially for residents of Wards 7 and 8, where economic barriers to legal help are often highest.

Walker Registration Opens July 15

Registration for the DC Walk for Justice 5K opens on July 15! This family-friendly event gives walkers the unique opportunity to gather for an active afternoon of fresh air, education, networking, and fun in support of civil legal services in DC.

Participants will enjoy a scenic 5K route, offering views of Nationals Park and the Anacostia River, followed by a finish line party in Centerfield Plaza complete with food, music, face painting, and an appearance by Nationals Racing President Teddy Roosevelt.

Thank you to our DC Walk for Justice 5k Sponsors!
