December CIR Chat

During next month’s CIR Chat, scheduled for December 4 from 4:00 to 4:30 PM, Bridget Pooley, Partner and COO at Mission Partners, will present the findings of a survey conducted with over 400 DC residents to gather feedback on selecting a name for the CIR system. The survey overwhelmingly recommends a name, which will be announced by the DCBF team following the presentation. The presentation and name announcement will take 15 minutes, followed by a Q&A session.

Will You Answer Our Call to Action?

The DC Bar Foundation’s annual Call to Action campaign is now underway. So far, 7 firms and corporations have generously committed $92,625, or 15% of our $612,000 goal.

Funds raised through Call to Action support training programs for legal aid lawyers, provide financial support to those same attorneys through our Loan Repayment Assistance Program, and bolster the Foundation’s operating grants, which provide critical unrestricted funding to legal aid organizations in DC. These grants help some of our grantees keep the lights on to continue offering life-saving services to residents in need.

We have once again based the campaign's giving tiers on the gift amount divided by the number of attorneys in the firm's DC office, creating a more equitable recognition system for firms of all sizes. This adjusted recognition system allows DC-area law firms to expand their generosity to more accurately reflect their footprints within the District's legal community.

Your continued support expands the Foundation’s reach in the civil legal aid community. It helps us transform DC’s civil legal aid network so that all District residents have a fair and equal legal experience.
