Save the Date: DCBF President's Reception on May 3


Are you looking for a meaningful and more substantial way to support our neighbors in need of civil legal aid? Consider joining the Foundation's 77 Society or renewing your membership today! Members of the 77 Society play a critical role in providing resources that help increase access to justice for thousands of DC residents each year. This year's President’s Reception, honoring the members of our 77 Society, takes place on the evening of Tuesday May 3 – location TBD. To become a member of the 77 Society, or to renew your membership and join us at this special event, please make or pledge your gift of $1,000 or more before April 30. DCBF Seeks Candidates for Board of Directors - March 1 Deadline

The DC Bar Foundation (DCBF) is seeking candidates for our Board of Directors for three-year terms, from October 1, 2022 – September 30, 2025. In addition to our commitment to diversifying our Board, DCBF seeks candidates with skill sets that support our strategic vision and five accompanying strategies. Preferred applicants should demonstrate a commitment to racial equity and familiarity with the DC legal aid community, as well as experience in network development, fundraising, participatory grantmaking, or research and evaluation.

DC Bar membership is not required. The deadline to apply for these vacancies is March 1, 2022.

Submit a Nomination for the 2022 Scoutt Prize by March 25

We are now accepting nominations for the 2022 Jerrold Scoutt Prize, awarded annually to an exceptional legal services attorney in the District of Columbia. Nominations must include a cover letter and the nominee’s curriculum vitae. Supporting materials, like articles of interest or letters of support, are highly encouraged. Nominations made for the 2020 and 2021 prizes will be reconsidered. Those who submitted nominations in those years are encouraged to update their nomination materials.
