LRAP Applications Still Open

We are currently accepting applications for the 2017 Loan Repayment Assistance Program. The application is available online and is due by 3:00 pm Friday, October 28. Awards will be announced mid-December, and the award is for January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017.

Since 2007, the DC Bar Foundation’s loan repayment assistance program (LRAP) has helped increase the number of experienced, skilled lawyers working on behalf of low-income individuals based in DC. Plus, the Foundation’s LRAP has forgiven nearly $3 million in educational loans for more than 220 of DC’s legal aid attorneys who incurred significant educational debt while pursuing law school. The Foundation is committed to ensuring that DC has dedicated legal aid attorneys to serve low-income DC residents.

Attorneys must be employed or seeking employment with an eligible DC legal aid organization to apply for LRAP. For more information on the 2017 LRAP application, eligibility, and requirements, please visit our website at: dcbarfoundation.org/lrap/. If you have any questions about the program, please email lrap@dcbarfoundation.org or call Programs Officer Christina Lynch at 202-853-9021.
