Mark Herzog, Pro Bono Counsel at Sidley Austin LLP, knows one thing that unites nearly all lawyers, regardless of their practice area: student loan debt.

The DC Bar Foundatoin provides loan repayment assistance to qualified attorneys working for an eligible employer in DC in order to: (1) increase the number of experienced, skilled lawyers working on behalf of low-income DC residents; and (2) assist DC poverty lawyers who have incurred significant educational debt in obtaining their law degree.

Last year, Mark decided to highlight our Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) in his firm’s Go Casual for Justice campaign by sharing stories and testimonials from some of our LRAP participants. Their campaign was a great success, bringing in over $4,000!

Looking for a way to make Go Casual for Justice relatable to all of your colleagues? Consider focusing your campaign on the challenges that many legal aid lawyers face with their law school debt. By supporting the DC Bar Foundation, and programs like LRAP, you help our grantees retain top-notch legal talent to provide our neighbors in need with the access to justice they deserve.
