Coordinated Intake and Referral Updates

  • Intake specialists are a critical component for the success of Coordinated Intake and Referral (CIR). Knowing this, we are supporting the creation of a subnetwork of the DC Legal Aid Transformations Network that is focused on intake. We hope to create a space where intake specialists can convene amongst themselves and provide helpful information to one another and to DCBF as we design the CIR system.

  • The Intake Network meets bi-weekly on Fridays at 11 AM; the next meetings are on August 5th and August 19th. If you or someone you know is interested in joining the Intake Network, please email Michanda Myles, network project manager, at myles@dcbarfoundation.org.

  • In April, we held client focus groups to get input about the Coordinated Intake and Referral process. During this time, we asked clients for feedback on what is needed to make intake and referral a reliable and seamless process for them. The summary report of their feedback will be released in the coming weeks.

  • DCBF put out a request to the legal aid service community for input on the CIR design. More than 20 organizations and individuals provided feedback on the structure and design of the anticipated Coordinated Intake and Referral System. We are pleased to announce that a full report will be released later this summer, and we look forward to sharing these findings with you.
