2022 GRANTS INFORMATION SESSION

Information Session Follow-Up

The DC Bar Foundation's July 29th information session was attended by close to 50 community partners. Below is the follow-up e-mail we recently sent to those who attended or expressed interest but were unable to attend:

Thank you all for attending the information session for the DC Bar Foundation's 2022 Grants Information Session or indicating your interest even if you could not attend. It was wonderful to have a mix of current and prospective grantees together. We hope that this session increased interest in applying for a DCBF grant and provided ample insight into the Foundation's mission and its funding priorities.

We encourage organizations to think about how the funding might help support their projects, possible collaborations, and submit applications. As mentioned at the information session, the Foundation is committed to the vision that residents of the District have equal access to justice, regardless of income. We also ask for your help in encouraging other organizations eligible for funding to apply for a 2022 grant.

We have posted the slides from yesterday's session and the demonstration of the SmartSimple system on the Foundation's website in case it is helpful to you. You can also find a copy of the Program Overview and Application Instructions; and PDF and Word versions of our General Support, Access to Justice, and Civil Legal Counsel Projects Program Grant Applications.

As mentioned, if you have any questions about our new grants management system, SmartSimple, and would like to meet with Kukua Osei-Gyamfi, Grants Specialist, please schedule using the hyperlinks for assistance regarding the organization profile and/or navigating the application.

For other questions, please reach out to us at grants@dcbarfoundation.org

We look forward to working through this process and seeing your strategies for providing greater access to the legal services that can improve the lives and futures of eligible DC residents.

Thank you for the work you do,

DCBF Programs Team
