DCBF has partnered with Fosterus, a non-profit established to assist with the administration of LRAP programs. On a monthly basis, we ask employers to provide the names of new employees who may be eligible, and Fosterus reaches out to those individuals with a request to enroll. Please contact your employer to see if your information has been sent to DCBF.

 

Starting in January of 2022, the determination of eligibility for LRAP awards will be made on a rolling basis. LRAP-eligible attorneys will no longer have to wait for an annual LRAP application period in October, nor will they have to wait until the following January to receive awards.

The application for the 2021 Loan Repayment Assistance Program is now available here. Applications are due October 22, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. ET. The application materials are available below for reference.

If you are a new applicant, you will be required to attend an info session on LRAP. These will be held September 29 - October 1, 2020.

​

• The 2021 LRAP Information Sessions will be held on September 29, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., September 30, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and October 1, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Applicants only need to attend one info session. RSVP here.

2021 LRAP PARTICIPANTS

​

LRAP participants are required to keep DCBF updated with all current information, including salary, joint income, home address and employment, to name a few. Email all updates to lrap@dcbarfoundation.org.

​

LRAP participants must certify at least four times a year that they are still eligible for the program. You will receive a notification via email when the link to the online certification form is available, which will be approximately two weeks before the due date.

​

Disbursements will NOT be deposited until we receive your certification and verify that you are still eligible for LRAP. All certifications will be completed through our online system, which is supported by Internet Explorer and Safari.  Questions about the online system can be answered here.

Below is the certification and disbursement schedule for 2021 LRAP:

• December 2020: Awards announced

• January 2021: Meeting with DCBF staff; loan packages signed; 1st disbursements received

• March 17, 2021: 1st Quarter Certification due by 3:00 pm (covering Jan 1 through March 31)

• April 2021: 2nd disbursements deposited

• June 16, 2021: 2nd Quarter Certification with Employer Certification Form, Six-Month Payment History Cover Sheet, & Six-Month Payment History Verification due (covering April 1 through June 30)

• July 2021: 3rd disbursements deposited

• September 15, 2021: 3rd Quarter Certification due (covering July 1 through September 30)

• October 2021: 4th (and final) disbursements deposited

• December 15, 2021: 4th Quarter Certification with Attachment A-Employer Certification Form (2021 LRAP 4th Quarter), Attachment B-Payment History Cover Sheet (2021 4th Quarter), & Six-Month Payment History Verification Documents (October 1 through December 15)

• January 31, 2022: Forgiveness letters sent
