Madiana Mustapha, Program Officer

As a native and resident of Washington, DC, Madiana Mustapha loves addressing community challenges at the local level. Her passion is for providing resources, services, actionable information, and justice to individuals living on limited means. She is excited to support the efforts of local organizations providing free legal services to underserved DC residents.

Prior to joining DCBF, she held various positions within law firms and nonprofits. Previously, Madiana Mustapha worked with a nonprofit developer on affordable homeownership transactions in Washington, DC. As a Project Manager, she worked on transactions that included a mixture of philanthropic, public, and private financing. She also provided technical assistance to nonprofits around low-income energy efficiency programs and worked on a national program that administered down payment assistance to more than 25,000 homeowners. Additionally, she spent many years as an independent consultant.

Ms. Mustapha served 2 years as an AmeriCorps Member with Habitat for Humanity in New York, Washington, D.C., and the Gulf Coast. She is a graduate of Middlebury College, earning a double major in American Literature and Political Science. In her spare time, she enjoys discovering new restaurants and traveling.
