CIR Updates

  • June 2023: Community Focus Groups. In June, the DC Bar Foundation will again work with NPC Research to conduct focus groups with District residents to gather their feedback to inform the design and development of the Coordinated Intake Referral System. To ensure that the System meets the needs of residents, the Bar Foundation is partnering with social services organizations to reach residents who have not previously connected with civil legal aid providers.

  • Now Hiring for the Coordinated Intake and Referral System. We are recruiting for a Coordinated Intake and Referral program manager. The person in this role will be responsible for providing leadership and management of the CIR System.

  • DC Legal Aid Transformations Network Convening June 14. The DC Legal Aid Transformations Network (DC LATN) will hold its first in-person quarterly convening on June 14, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM EDT at the University of the District of Columbia in the Student Center Ballroom. Register now before registration closes on May 30 at 5:00 PM. In June, DC LATN will also celebrate its two-year anniversary. The network, which has grown to 103 members, prioritized wellbeing and continues to reinforce those principles as they work together to transform civil legal aid for District residents. Over the last two years, DC LATN has increased its capacity to connect on specific topic areas by forming subnetworks on topics that include housing, public benefits, employment, and other areas, allowing for deeper relationship-building and action outside the quarterly convenings.

  • CIR Chat Every Third Wednesday. We continue to hold our monthly CIR Chat to discuss Coordinated Intake and Referral. These 30-minute discussion sessions are a great way to engage with the process and serve as a thought leader as we build the system. This month’s discussion focused on the client experience and what a successful interaction looks like for the end user.

  • CIR Chat – Topics of Interest. Do you want us to cover any topics during an upcoming CIR Chat? Or do you have any thoughts on how we can make the Chats more useful for you? We would like to hear from you. Please send us an email at innovation@dcbarfoundation.org.
