Thanks to the generosity of the law firms, individuals, and other donors listed below, the DC Bar Foundation achieve a new record of $563,000 for its annual Call to Action campaign. The Bar Foundation combined these gifts with other revenue sources (e.g., IOLTA revenue) to award 24 grants at the end of June 2011 totaling $865,000.
Law firms, along with other institutional and individual donors, stepped up to close the gap left by lackluster IOLTA revenue, allowing the Bar Foundation to maintain its funding to nonprofit legal services providers at roughly the same level as last year. We are truly grateful to everyone that joined us in making this year’s Call to Action campaign the most successful ever. Their support means that legal services providers will continue providing high-quality representation to District residents who most need, but can least afford, legal help.
