Access to Justice Grant Program - Public Grants

Funds are available each fiscal year only if appropriated and obligated by the District of Columbia City Council. Awards are made in three categories: (a) underserved areas of the District of Columbia; (b) housing-related matters; or (c) to support a shared legal services interpreter bank.  Applicants must select a category before applying. DC Legal Services Grant Program - Private Grants

Awards are made either for operating grants or program grants. A common grant application is used. The FY13 IOLTA/Private grant applications are due by 5 pm on Friday, April 12, 2013. At the present time, DCBF anticipates having $500,000 available in private grants as compared to $685,000 in FY12.  Please be advised that there will be a rebuttable presumption in favor of current grantees.  The FY13 private grant funding period is July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014.
